The seventh iteration of the Gato del Sol legacy is currently being manufactured by our team, with an expected rollout date of December 2024.
Gato del Sol VII is an ambitious reimagining of what made the Gato del Sol line of solar cars so efficient. Gato VII hosts a pontoon-style aeroshell with a right-hand side driver. Utilizing a strongcomposite aluminum-honeycomb chassis with an ever-so optimized suspension, Gato VII is mechanically designed to save energy in each and every turn it takes. Electrically, the car boasts 4 square meters of solar panels supplying a 420W battery, allowing the driver to cruise wherever they’d like, whether it be rain or shine.
After being in the design phase throughout Lockdown since 2019, Gato VII has been through trial and tribulation since the beginning. Now, it’s time to prove that patience is key and show off what Kentucky Engineering can do!
