Power and Energy Institute

Launched in 2010, PEIK has a mission to broaden power and energy education programs at University of Kentucky through increasing number of students receiving education in this field, developing new courses and certificate programs, and offering professional development / continuing education programs. By providing aspiring and practicing engineers with this innovative education, PEIK will support development of innovative technologies, high energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, and provision of plentiful and reliable energy essential to the U.S. economy. PEIK's larger goal is to establish the University of Kentucky as a preeminent power and energy university nationally and internationally. Specific benefits to UK could include new collaborative research activities among the diverse faculty working together in the collaborative environment of a multidisciplinary institute.

Student Sustainability Council

The Student Sustainability Council was formed to supervise the distribution of the Environmental Stewardship Fee in order to responsibly advance the theory, practice and reality of Sustainability at the University of Kentucky. Any member of the University of Kentucky community can submit a proposal for funding support.
